About Me: My Story

I was raised in an alcoholic home, where alcoholism was a generational issue. I experienced abuse of every sort, and it definitely affected my mental and emotional state. I was co-dependent, controlling, bossy, and terrified of anger and rejection. I was always stressed, and the only emotions that I seemed to be able to recognize and acknowledge were fear and anger. Through the years, I saw several therapists using talk therapy, because I knew that I needed help. I didn’t want to be like my parents when I started to have children. I got something helpful from every therapist that I saw. When I discovered Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and Emotion Code (EC), though, it was like experiencing therapy on steroids. I was able to process several traumatic memories that I knew were still affecting me, and getting to those specific memories to address my issues has been a life changing experience! Now, I am in peace most of the time, I stay in my ‘window of tolerance’ , where I am not often thrown off my center by even very challenging situations. I don’t feel the need to correct people, or try to manage the circus or monkeys in the lives of others, haha! I can genuinely say that I love who God made me to be, and I know my strengths and weaknesses. I think that we go through things to be able to help other people going through similar difficult times, and I also think that God gave me the gifts of intuition and perception to be able to help others using EFT and EC. While EFT & EC can be used to address literally any issue, my focus is on helping people recover from the effects of being raised in an alcoholic home, empty-nest syndrome, phobias, and issues believers can experience in their Christian journey.

More about EFT

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques, aka ‘Tapping’, because we use the fingertips to tap on acupuncture points, while talking about an issue and the associated emotions. It is a gentle technique developed by Gary Craig in the 1990s. The somatic, or physical, act of tapping on the body can neutralize painful emotions that go along with difficult memories. It is a very efficient and effective way to bring about a real sense of calm to the body and mind, by releasing the energy imbalance created by a limiting belief or painful emotion. It has been shown in several studies (see research citations on home page) to significantly reduce the stress hormone, cortisol, and the ‘flight, fight, or freeze’ stress response in the body.

EFT uses some of the same energy pathways used by acupuncturists to address mental and physical issues, such as stress or sadness. Tapping while you think about your specific issue, a memory, and the emotion associated with it can clear the old limiting belief/stuck emotions from the body’s fight/flight/freeze area of the brain’s memory center. This allows you to think more clearly, as if it has cleared out the old neuropathways. After a session, I have had many clients report that they see the old issue differently, from a more neutral position. They have reported that the limiting belief or the associated event is something that has simply happened, and they can think about the event free of the painful emotion that they previously felt, in a more balanced way.

More About Emotion Code

Like EFT, the Emotion Code (EC) is a technique for finding and releasing disruptions in the body's energy system, but instead of using conversation to discover specific past events the way EFT practitioners do, Emotion Code practitioners use muscle testing to locate trapped emotions and other energy imbalances. The technique works to identify and release trapped emotions, which are previously unprocessed emotional energies from negative past events. These unprocessed painful emotions can block people from feeling love and happiness and can make them feel disconnected from others. These energetic blocks can interfere with the body’s natural ability to heal. Releasing trapped emotions makes conditions right for the body to heal itself physically, and emotional difficulties often disappear or become much easier to handle.

Everything in the world has energy and our bodies are no exception to this. Each part of our bodies has an energetic field, including our organs and tissues. Similarly, emotions, experiences, traumas, interactions, and more also have an energetic component.

The premise of Emotion Code is that those energies can interact with the energy in our bodies. Energy may become trapped and create an imbalance within us, which can affect us in a variety of ways. They may lead to physical discomfort or emotional turmoil. Energy balancing techniques seek to identify energetic imbalances or blockages and remove them by acknowledging the emotion, and with intention, releasing them. By removing these energies, the body is able to use it’s innate ability to mend more efficiently and effectively!

The beauty of the Emotion Code is that we can release trapped emotions without having to go into the events that contributed to the emotions getting trapped in the first place. Additionally, I can work with you remotely wherever you are in the world!

More about MUSCLE TESTING:

Initially used in the 20th century to measure muscle weakness in polio patients, muscle testing is presently used in over 70 different techniques by more than one million practitioners worldwide. Certified energy balancing practitioners initiate muscle testing by making a statement and then gauging the positive and negative muscle response. It’s believed that a strong muscle response indicates a “yes” or positive answer, while the weak muscle response indicates a “no” or negative answer. By querying the body’s nervous system in this way, energetic imbalances can be found and eliminated.

Muscle testing can also be conducted with permission, by proxy. By definition, “proxy” means to stand for or represent someone. Muscle testing by proxy may be used when the recipient can’t be present. In these cases, a “proxy” is used in their stead. This can be done with a 3rd person acting as proxy, or the tester may conduct the testing on his or her own body, serving as proxy for the testee. This is my preferred technique, as it is quick, easy and effective.

Because the body functions on principles of biomagnetic energy, muscle testing can be used as a means of connecting with the subconscious mind to identify the energies and emotions that may affect various systems in the body, in the mind, and in the spirit.
